A comprehensive program that focuses on the practical aspects of product design, including 3D modeling, prototyping, and human-centered design principles. Students will work on real-world projects and develop the technical and creative skills needed to conceptualize innovative products.

Course Content

6-Months Product Design Certification

Total Duration: 150 sessions (2 hours/day, 6 days a week)

Week 1–4: Introduction to Product Design and Design Thinking (24 sessions)

• Fundamentals of design thinking and human-centered design
• Developing empathy through user research and problem-solving
• Hands-on: Conduct user research and create design briefs for real-world products

Week 5–6: Sketching, Conceptualization, and Ideation (12 sessions)

Advanced sketching techniques for product design
Translating abstract ideas into product concepts
Hands-on: Create and refine product concepts using sketching

Week 7–8: AutoCAD Basics and Drawing Techniques (12 sessions)

Introduction to AutoCAD, including 2D drawing, editing, and dimensioning
Hands-on: Design product components using 2D drafting techniques

Week 9–10: 3D Modeling and Advanced AutoCAD Techniques (12 sessions)

• Creating 3D models in AutoCAD, including extrusions, lofting, and 3D views
• Hands-on: Model complex product parts using AutoCAD 3D tools

Week 9–10: Materials, Manufacturing, and Ergonomics (12 sessions)

Understanding materials and manufacturing processes for product design
Introduction to ergonomics and its importance in product usability
Hands-on: Create designs that address ergonomic considerations

Week 11–12: Materials and Manufacturing for Product Design (12 sessions)

Overview of materials and manufacturing processes, including additive manufacturing
• Exploring sustainability in product design
• Hands-on: Select appropriate materials for product prototypes

Week 13–14: Ergonomics and Human Factors in Design (12 sessions)

Designing for user comfort and efficiency through ergonomic principles
• Hands-on: Redesign a product to improve its ergonomics

Week 15–16: Product Prototyping Techniques (12 sessions)

Overview of prototyping methods: digital and physical prototypes
• Hands-on: Develop a physical prototype of a product concept
